Jimmie Earl Smith

Born and raised in Spring Hope North Carolina, Jimmie Earl Smith Jr. had a passion for playing drums at a very early age. Later in his adult life he was afforded the privilege of traveling across the United States playing fulltime with Shirley Ceaser, The Mighty Clouds of Joy, The Swan Silvertones and Slim and the Supreme Angels.

Jimmie played with a local Jazz band for many years before starting his own band Jimmie & Company. Jimmie currently plays the drums for his church; Power of Faith Ministries for over 20 years and he was the primary drummer for St. Francis Xavier Church for over 10 years. Jimmie was also the musical band leader for a well know Production Company called Kuumba Ensemble.

Jimmie is a manager at a printing company, has 3 daughters, 1 son, 8 grandchildren and married to his beautiful wife Lori. Besides playing drums, he enjoys watching sports, trying new restaurants and traveling with family. Jimmie also loves to teach drum lessons on the side.

His musical inspiration and personal friend is the famous drummer Dennis Chambers. He is also inspired by Tony Roster Jr., Steve Gadd and Aaron Spears.
